The Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 150 McDaniel Avenue in Jamestown has begun a seminar series entitled "The Revelation of Jesus" each Wednesday at 1 PM at the church.  Minister and Evangelist Kenneth Cox will present one chapter during each session for all 22 in the book of Revelations... which points to the 'end-times.'  For more information on these free seminars... call 358-4608..

The Shred Center will again be offering free shredding services on Earth Day - THIS Saturday, April 22nd  between the hours of 9am and 1pm at their NEW LOCATION - 1943 New York Ave, Falconer. In lieu of their normal charge for shredding, new owners Jamie and Tyler Swanson are asking customers to make a cash or check contribution to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care. Infinity Visual and Performing Arts will be hosting Barbara Jean and Friends at the Infinity Arts Café at 7:00pm on Friday, April 28th for the Jazz at Infinity series. Barbara Jean will sing a variety of songs from the Great American Songbook accompanied by Dalt Berringer, Lloyd Howard, Dan Hull and Tim Clarke.Thanks to support from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Jazz at Infinity events are free, family friendly, and open to the public. Help choose Jamestown’s favorite pizza!  All are invited to come to the fun and flavorful Slice of History Pizza Challenge Saturday April 29 from 1-3 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 27 Allen St., Jamestown.  Bring your appetite.  Learn about Jamestown’s Italian heritage and share your family history.  The fantastic and entertaining Italian Heritage Dancers will perform at 1:30.  Cost is $10 for adults, $3 for children up to age 12. 

 

The Fluvanna Fire Department will participate in the 6th Annual statewide RecruitNY weekend to help increase the number of volunteer firefighters.  An open house will be held 11am and 7pm on April 29th and Noon to 7pm on Sunday April 30th.  There will be free hot dogs, hamburgers and soda. The Frewsburg Lions Club is having a Chicken and Biscuit dinner  from 5-7pm on Saturday April 29th at the Blue Building on Hazzard Street in Frewsburg.  8 dollars for adults, 5 dollars for children 5-10 and under 4 eat free.  Proceeds benefit the Myers Memorial Library.

 

The 96th Highlanders Pipes and Drums present the Lake Effect Ceilidh Saturday April 29th starting at 4pm.  There will be Celtic Entertainment with Limeric, Monte and Marcia Jones, and the 96th Highlanders Pipes and Drums.  There will also be a Scottish Auction and Food! Long Point State Park is hosting their first I Love My Park Day on May 6th from 9:00a.m.-1:00pm. If you are looking for a way to give back to the area you call home or help clean-up your favorite musky ice fishing spot, come join us as we show our state park some love through a day of service. Addiction Epidemic: Hope & Healing for Chautauqua Overview will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 601 Washington Ave., Dunkirk on Wednesday, May 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This event includes prevention, treatment, and recovery resource presentations followed by an Opioid Overdose Response/Narcan Training at 4:00 p.m. lead by Alison Espin of the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services. 

 

HOPE & HEALING UCAN Chapel will be held on Friday, May 19 12:30 p.m. at the UCAN City Mission, 7 W. First St. Jamestown, NY. The chapel will be a time of praise and prayer, with a message on hope.

 

The Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion on 26 Jackson Avenue will host a breakfast from 8:30am to 11am  on Sunday May 21  that includes scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, home fries, sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes and more.  The say this is the "Cheapest breakfast in town" - the Public is welcome! Proceeds benefit boys state scholarships and post maintinance.
